Dew Gamers Arena 2019 – How It Went

Last night was epic as the PUBG finals brought an end to the Dew Gamers Arena 2019 as a whole. It all started off when Dew Gamers Arena announced their return back on the 30th of June. Mountain Dew maintains a reputation for hosting the best Esports tournaments in Pakistan filled with back to back action, hefty prize-pools and celebrity appearances.

This year, they were nothing short of what is expected of them. They brought an immense prize pool of 3 million PKR and managed to gather the best teams from around the country under one roof completely sponsoring the trip and stay for all players coming from other cities. The event took place at Lahore Expo Centre on the 31st of August and started off with a performance from Ali Azmat followed by the DOTA Finals. Portal Esports one of the biggest Esports organization of Pakistan lost to Recreational Hazard that amusingly consisted of ex-Portal player Ahsan “Ahsan” Hameed.

In the CS: GO Finals, Legion took off to a flying start beating Gaming Hub 16:5 at Nuke. However, as they say, it’s never over till it’s over; Gaming Hub turned the tables at Inferno with a 16:9 win and then took the title home with a very close game at Mirage in which they managed to slightly edge to victory with a 16:13 win. The best players undoubtedly were Abdul ‘HSB’ Haseeb with a 1.31/2.0 rating and Saad ‘PokemoN’ Ahmed with a 1.29/2.0 rating. The rivalry got so intense that when HSB got hold of a mic after the win, he was sure to remind PokemoN that they are the champions and teased him by sarcastically saying “he can keep the trophy until their flight

The PUBG finals happened yesterday with the most known teams of Pakistan participating for a prize-pool of 1 million PKR and 16 Samsung A50 phones. It came out as a surprise to many that star-studded Gaminghub came only 4th while their CS: GO team actually managed to get the ultimate win. Getting back to PUBG, many new teams came forward with some exceptional performances that caught our eye. Team Bablu consisting of BabluZamin, BabluDanish, BabluTyrant and BabluAhad won the championship while 4THIEVES, TEAM 2X and GAMINGHUB came 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.

So this was all from this year’s edition of Dew Gamers Arena, we just can’t wait to see what more does Mountain Dew have in store for us gamers of Pakistan.
