Now at the very start of the steam, three crucial awards were given: The Best Esports Event was won by League of Legends World Championship 2019 over Fortnite World Cup & The International 2019, the Best Esports Team was G2 Esports (Other Nominees: Astralis, Liquid) and Best Fighting Game was awarded to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with Mortal Kombat 11 losing out on the award.

Then the actual show started with a heart-wrenching CHVRCHES Live Performance followed by some words from the Head of Gaming Awards Geoff Keighley who started with, “Tonight we celebrate video games". Microsoft then announced the Xbox Series X, the next-gen is all set to challenge the PS5 with its release in Holiday 2020 along with Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II which is made exclusively to perform best on this console.

NBA star Stephen Curry came on to present the the Esports player of the year award to the Fotnite World Champion, Kyle ‘Bugha’ Giersdorf and joked about thumb injury while going for the “triangle button” while gaming and also said “gaming is the fastest growing industry in the world” rightfully so.

The Call of Duty took both the Best Audio Design (Modern Warfare) and mobile game of the year (COD: mobile) award while the Best Art Direction went to Control, the Best Action Game was won by Devil May Cry 5 and the Best Game Direction went to Death Stranding. Fortnite won Best On-going Game Award while a Fortnite x Star Wars event was also announced for Saturday.

Shroud won the content creator of the year, we got in depth with the official soundtrack of Cyberpunk 2077 AND caught a glimpse of ELON MUSK attending the awards. Shortly after, Mirage interrupted through a video call with his oh-so-great humor, puns and good-looks (of-course) to announce FREE premium skin AND the biggest celebration in the Outlands, THE HOLO-DAY BASH!

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled won the best Sports/Racing game of the year ahead of FIFA 20, PES 2020 and F1 2019. League of Legends won the Esports Game of the Year and also announced they are developing a single-player campaign for console and PC called Ruined King followed by a Green Day live-performance. Ninja then came to present the award for the best multiplayer game of the year award to Apex Legends that beat Borderlands 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to this honor

Michelle Rodriguez aka Letty from Fast and Furious came to announce a new Fast and Furious came called Crossroads to be made available on PS4, Xbox One and Steam in May 2020 and then welcomed a surprise guest, Vin Diesel who shared his love for gaming and then announced the last and most-prestigious award in the world of gaming, THE GAME OF THE YEAR award and it was given to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
